Talk about dinner on demand. This easy spicy shrimp pasta cooks in one pan, has only 5 ingredients, and cooks in 10 minutes!
Did you know that a millennial is defined as anyone born between the 1980s to 2000s? That’s a HUGE gap. I consider myself to be an older millennial, having been born within the first half of that time span, and having done the adult-ing thing for a few years already. But, there is a huge population of younger millennials who were born in the second half. The ones who don’t know what Beverly Hills, 90210 or FUBU is. I would consider you folks to be the younger millennials.
Today’s recipe is geared for all the younger millennials out there. The ones who are just learning how to cook and may be living on your own for the first time in a small space and on a budget.
My spicy shrimp pasta recipe cooks in one pan, has only 5 ingredients, and cooks in 10 minutes! It is spicy, tasty, and impressive (anything with shrimp is impressive, right?). I even included some greens to make sure all you younger millennials grow up nice and strong.
The secret to the ease of this recipe is Barilla’s Pronto Pasta, an authentic Italian food brand that allows you to bring quality taste to your table. The specially formulated pasta allows you to cook pasta in one pan, without the need to boil or drain water. It does not get any easier than that! Y’all have it so easy!
Start by adding an entire box of Barilla’s Pronto pasta to a large skillet.
Chop in some garlic for some extra flavor.
Throw in some frozen pre-cooked shrimp.
Add water.
And turn your burner up to high.
Now it’s just a waiting game and a stir every now and then. In 10 minutes you will have perfectly warmed shrimp and al dente pasta. Talk about dinner on demand!
While the pasta is nice and hot, add in fresh spinach leaves.
After stirring it in, the leaves will wilt and look like this.
To finish it off, pour in your favorite Barilla sauce. I used Barilla’s spicy marinara sauce because the spiciness pairs so nicely with the shrimp.
Give it a good toss with the sauce before plating.
This meal is so satisfying after a long day of adult-ing, whether you’re a younger millennial or an older one.
You can pick up all the ingredients you need for this recipe at Walmart, like I did.
Barilla’s Pronto pasta comes in several cuts so choose your favorite from spaghetti, elbow, penne, linguine, and rotini.
One box of Barilla’s Pronto Spaghetti (what I used) makes enough for 4 servings so you’ll have leftovers for lunch the next day! That’s another $10 that you get to keep :)
