Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow with soft and chewy raisins and crunchy cashews is a fun and non-traditional way to enjoy cereal.Growing up, one of my all-time favorite cereals was Honey Bunches of Oats. With the crunchy oat clusters, crispy flakes, and honey flavor, each bite was tasty, full of texture, and unique. When I heard of the launch of the new flavor, Honey Bunches of Oats Pecan & Maple Brown Sugar, I was over the moon excited and almost immediately headed to Walmart to pick up a box.

I love the different varieties offered by Malt-O-Meal like French Toasters and Fruity Stars. And, with their Love it or it is free guarantee, you have nothing to lose!
Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow with soft and chewy raisins and crunchy cashews is a fun and non-traditional way to enjoy cereal.Once I got home, I helped myself to a healthy handful of Honey Bunches of Oats Pecan & Maple Brown Sugar.  It was super tasty! It had all the goodness as the original, but with added crunch from pecans and a punch of brown sugar and maple flavors. So delicious!

Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow with soft and chewy raisins and crunchy cashews is a fun and non-traditional way to enjoy cereal. As I was crunching away, my mind was coming up with other ways to enjoy the cereal. Sure, I could have easily visited POST’s Pinterest account, but why do things the easy way when you can do things the hard way (sigh, such is life)? In the end, I came up with this Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow, which is the important thing.

I combined Honey Bunches of Oats Pecan & Maple Brown Sugar with melted butter and marshmallows to make bite-sized marshmallow treats. Then, I tossed them with soft and chewy raisins and crunchy cashews. The result is this Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow, which is completely addicting and satisfying.

The Chewy Pecan & Maple Puppy Chow is wonderful as an on-the-go snack, for when you’re bored while stuck in traffic, or as an alternative to popcorn on movie night.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 ounces marshmallows
  • 3 cups Honey Bunches of Oats Pecan & Maple Brown Sugar cereal
  • ¾ cups raisins

  • Transfer the marshmallow cereal sheet to a cutting board and cut into ½-inch squares using a sharp knife. Transfer to a large bowl and add the raisins and cashews. Toss together to combine.

Oh gosh, I love this variation on traditional puppy chow!! I haven’t tried the pecan and maple brown sugar version of Honey Bunches of Oats, but I’m putting it on my shopping list now – it sounds delicious!
